Career history:

Peter Robinson is President and CEO of the United States Council for International Business, a partner organization of the Major Economies Business Forum (BizMEF) and the U.S. affiliate of the International Chamber of Commerce, International Organization of Employers, and Business and industry Advisory Committee to OECD.
A leading business advocate for private sector innovation and investment in international markets, he is an appointee to the President’s Committee of the International Labor Organization as well as to the Trade and Environment Policy Advisory Committee (TEPAC) to the United States Trade Representative. He has represented US business at four of the UNFCCC COPs since Copenhagen, and will do so again in Paris at COP21.

Peter Bakker is the President of the World Business Council for Sustainable Development. Mr. Bakker is a distinguished business leader who, until June 2011, was the CEO of TNT NV, the Netherlands-based holding company of TNT Express and Royal TNT Post. Under his leadership TNT rose to the forefront of Corporate Responsibility via a ground-breaking partnership with the UN World Food Program and ambitious CO2 reduction targets from its Planet Me initiative, holding multiple-year top-ranking positions in the Dow ones Sustainability Index.
Mr. Bakker is the recipient of Clinton Global Citizen Award (2009); SAM Sustainability Leadership Award (2010); and has been an Ambassador Against Hunger for the UN World Food Programme since 2011. In addition he is the Chairman of War Child Netherlands.

Career history:

• Brian Flannery retired from Exxon Mobil Corporation as Manager Science, Strategy and Programs. He served as Lead Author IPCC Working Group III; Vice Chair, Environment and Energy Commission, International Chamber of Commerce; and on numerous advisory panels, including the Stanford Engineering School, NATO Science Committee, and US DOE and EPA. He helped create the Joint Program on the Science and Policy of Global Change at MIT and the Global Climate and Energy Project at Stanford University.
• Dr. Flannery holds degrees in astrophysics from Princeton and the University of California Santa Cruz, and pursued research at The Institute for Advanced Study and as professor at Harvard. He is co-author of the widely used reference Numerical Recipes: the Art of Scientific Computing.

Career history:

Mr. Haugland is Executive Vice President and Chief Sustainability Officer in DNV-GL Group. In his capacity as CSO for DNV-GL group Mr. Haugland oversee DNV-GL’s sustainability performance and drive company-wide sustainability initiatives. Mr. Haugland has extensive experience assisting multinational Companies in areas such as sustainability, climate change and corporate responsibility and to ensure ethical and sustainable performance within complex global supply chains.

Mr. Haugland is board member in StormGeo, WWF, Forum for Environmental Technology, Germanischer Lloyd SE and in SUSTAINIA.

Mr. Haugland started his career in DNV in 1991 and has held various management positions in Norway and abroad. He worked in Korea in the period 1995 to 1997. From 2004 to 2008 he was country chair and responsible for DNV’s operation in Greater China. Mr. Haugland has a M.Sc. in Naval Architecture – Marine Structures and Hydrodynamics – from The Norwegian Institute of Technology in Trondheim and he attended the “Strategic International Leadership” programme at International Institute for Management Development (IMD).

Career history:

Mr.Tezuka is General Manager, Climate Change Policy Group at JFE Steel Corporation, and the Chair,Global Environmental Strategy WG, KEIDANREN. He is currently a member of Private Sector Advisory Group at Green Climate Fund. In addition, he has been involving in various international initiatives, including the development of Joint Credit Mechanisms (JCM) with Japanese government, and coordinating the Major Economies Business Forum on Energy Security and Climate Change (BizMEF). He chairs the Energy Technology Committee of Japan Iron and Steel Federation, at which he promotes and follows up Voluntary Action Plans of JISF. Mr.Tezuka also chiars the Public & Private Collaborative Meeting between Indian and Japanese Iron & Steel Industry from 2012 to promote sectoral corporations on energy saving and environmental technologies. Mr.Tezuka received MBA from Massachusetts Institute of Technology and BE on Applied Physics from The University of Tokyo.

Career history:

David Victor is an internationally recognized leader in research on energy and climate change policy as well as energy markets . He is the author of Global Warming Gridlock, which explains why the world hasn't made much diplomatic progress on the problem of climate change while also exploring new strategies that would be more effective

Prior to joining the faculty at UC San Diego, Victor served as Director of the Program on Energy and Sustainable Development at Stanford University where he was also a Professor at Stanford Law School and taught energy and environmental law.  At Stanford he built a research program that focused on the energy markets of the major emerging countries—mainly Brazil, China, India, Mexico and South Africa. Earlier in his career he also directed the science and technology program at the Council on Foreign Relations in New York and led the International Institute for Applied Systems Analysis in Austria one of the first major assessments of the effectiveness of international environmental law.

Victor directs the ILAR research center at UC San Diego. ILAR’s work in understanding regulation, from climate change treaties to human rights accords, aims to have a significant impact on all players in international relations––those working in the global economy in multinational firms, aid and development as well as nongovernmental organizations.

Victor is a leading contributor to the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC), a United Nations-sanctioned international body with 195 country members. Victor’s expertise was recently tapped by the Southern California Edison to lead the company’s Community Engagement Panel for decommissioning of the San Onofre Nuclear Power Plant. According to utility officials, he was chosen to lead the panel because he has the vision, leadership and experience. His Ph.D. is from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology and A.B. from Harvard University.
